Otari Village is located in the north of Nagano prefecture and is famous for its forests, snow and hot springs.
We offer an aromatic distillation experience in Otari Village, which is in the foothills of the Japanese Northern Alps.
After walking through the forest with a professional guide, experience the distillation process and watch how essential oils and aromatic waters are produced.
You will be shown how to make your own perfume using essential oils from Japan and other parts of the world.
You will also receive two bottles of aromatic water to take away with you so that you can continue to enjoy the aroma of the forests in your home!

It takes 30 minutes by car to get there from JR Minami Otari train station.
The event starts at 12:30 and finishes at 15:00.
Please feel free to ask for advice about your travel to the JR Minami Otari train station and to Miyama Yuen, Kitano no Sato.
5,500 JPY for adults, 2,200 JPY for high school and junior high school students (under primary school free)
3 days before the date you participate
A guide for the forest walk, distillation, natural perfumery, two bottles of aromatic water, insurance and consumer tax.
Transportation to JR Minami Otari station, but feel free to ask for information regarding travel to JR Minami Otari station.
Wear comfortable shoes, a long-sleeve T-shirt or a jacket, and long pants to walk around the forests.
Bring your own food and drinks. Be sure to bring enough water.
Accommodation in Otari Village can be organised for you. Please feel free to ask.
Maximum capacity for the experience is 10 people.
Minimum capacity for the experience is 2 people.
